Southern Spirit would like to thank everybody who helped to make this event a success. We raised over £1000 for this worthy cause, and everybody who was involved in any way needs to be congratulated.
Rock Against Prostate Cancer
On 2nd September Southern Spirit are performing at the Under Ground Theatre, Eastbourne to help to raise money for the Eastbourne District General Hospital. The Da Vinci robot is an important piece of equipment for treating prostate cancer. Through the use of a console, the surgeon is able to perform extremely delicate procedures with great accuracy and with minimal impact on the patient. Each console costs £2200, and the Friends of Eastbourne Hospital is hoping to raise sufficient money to purchase five of these (£11000). This will enable other surgeons to perfect their ability to perform procedures in prostate cancer treatments. |
Anyone who does not wish to attend the concert but would still like to participate or who wishes to donate more towards this charity cause can do so through the JustGiving website.
Tickets will be available from the Under Ground Theatre, from Online Ticket Seller, Skiddle, and from the tourist office, among other outlets.
Our Mayor of Eastbourne, Pat Hearn, will be attending the concert. Here is a link to her Facebook page.

Tickets will cost £10 but they can also be purchased for £15 or £20 if you wish to contribute more than the guide price. Also, a small number of "VIP Tickets" will be available for £30. These will give exclusive entry to the Green Room, where there will be access to the group for a chat and drinks afterwards.
Souvenir T-Shirts will be available for sale in the foyer during the interval for £12. People who make donations on the evening will also be offered the chance to enhance the value of their donation through Gift Aid. Gift Aid is an income tax relief designed to benefit charities such as ours. If you're a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid increases the value of your charity donations by 25% because the charity can reclaim the basic rate of tax on your gift at no extra cost to you. |
The Small Print
30% of ticket sales will go the the Under Ground Theatre, which is itself a charity. The 70% balance will all go to our charity under the auspices of Friends of Eastbourne Hospital. |
